MIL-Spec which is short for military specifications means a MIL-Spec designed product or wiring is built for use in the most demanding environments and to the quality control standards of the U.S. military. These standards aim to ensure the quality of the materials used, the workmanship of the build, and the overall reliability of the product. This often means wiring that has been built using the purest of copper, then Teflon-coated to shield from various types of frequency-related electrical interference. Clearly, in scenarios of battle, the reliability of a soldier’s equipment is essential as there can be no room for electrical problems.
